Elizabeth Meiling Yuen - Principal
Life Style and Travel Specialist
In the illustrious Beijing social circle Elizabeth Meiling Yuen is known as the "Escoffier Lady" whose image commonly adorns some of China's top magazine covers. A name synonymous with taste and class, Elizabeth's high profile signature events gather both East and West elites in the global culinary and travel industry. A native of Guangzhou, Elizabeth immigrated to the United States in 1990 and lived in Seattle, Hawaii and Southern California before returning to China.

Elizabeth played a key role in 2003 in founding the Les Amis d'Escoffier Society-Asia Pacific in Beijing. The organization has attracted Asian gourmets in all fields and is dedicated to appreciating and promoting excellence in food. As the Escoffier Society's Secretary General Elizabeth has played a key role in expanding this elite gastronomic program to dozens of countries. The Society's membership has increased substantially during her tenure, and she now travels frequently between countries in Asia as well as internationally.

As a champion and advocate of friendship through international cuisine and hospitality, Elizabeth's annual Escoffier Society dinner, which gathers the stars of Asia and dignitaries from Europe, is an eagerly attended event. Escoffier's last dinner, "The Rose of the Desert -- a Night in Tunisia" was enthusiastically covered in the media. Because of her efforts in promoting friendship and exchanges between Tunisia and China, Elizabeth has been honored as the "Ambassador of Charm for Tunisia to China" by the Tunisia Government. Her work as the pioneer for Tunisia tourism has also born fruit in areas of movie productions and cultural exchanges.

Elizabeth is also generous with her time to various charitable causes. A member of the Special Olympic First Annual Asian Pacific Charity Organization, Elizabeth successfully raised major funds for the China Disabled Persons Federation. Elizabeth also assisted with fundraising for the China Cuisine Association's Chef Training Program through the Escoffier Society. In 2005 she and the Escoffier Society were the sponsors for a Chinese delegation to participate in the famous 10th Bocuse D'Or world cuisine contest in Lyon, France where the Chinese team won the prize in the "Best Design" competition.

Elizabeth and the Les Amis d'Escoffier Society also co-hosted the "100 Chef Preparation and Training for the Olympics" in association with the Beijing Western Food Association in 2006 and played a key role in organizing a successful dinner in the People's Great Hall. She and the Escoffier Society generously assist with the "Spring Bud Project" of the China Children and Teenagers Fund, an organization which financially supports Chinese female students who have dropped out of school and helps them return to campus.

Elizabeth is also the President of Meiling Productions and the Vice Secretary-General of the China Public Relations Association.

Lucy Siegel, President & CEO
Bridge Global Strategies

Bridge Global Strategies, a strategic communications and public relations company in New York, was founded in 2004 by Lucy Siegel, a public relations professional with 30 years’ experience working with CEOs, marketing and communications executives on a wide range of issues and assignments. She has spearheaded PR programs for consumer products and services, financial products, B2B technology products, government organizations, professional services and non-profits. Lucy started her career as a newspaper reporter. She then became associate editor for a travel industry trade magazine, Medical Meetings, and rose to the position of editor-in-chief.

Lucy entered the public relations field at The Equitable (now part of Axa), where she directed communications for the group health and pension asset management businesses. Her next PR position was in Tokyo, for Cosmo Public Relations, where she was appointed the first non-Japanese member of the board of directors. After returning to New York, she launched and headed a subsidiary for Cosmo before opening her own international PR firm, which she ran for seven years until it was acquired. It is now part of the Publicis Groupe PR network in New York. Lucy was co-director of the PR unit at Publicis Dialog in New York for several years before she left to start Bridge Global Strategies in 2004.

Bridge is a boutique firm with senior professionals. Their personal relationships with the media and other important constituencies help make Bridge successful. Most of Bridge’s staff have either lived overseas or were born abroad and have a deep understanding of cross-border and cross-cultural communications. Many of Bridge’s clients are foreign multinational companies in the United States, or U.S. companies that want to reach overseas audiences.

Given its international business emphasis, it’s no surprise that the travel and hospitality sector and economic development communications are areas where Bridge has significant experience. The firm’s clients include JAL Hotels (Nikko Hotels International luxury hotel group), a client relationship with Bridge staff members for over 10 years. The staff’s experience includes a luxury hotel consortium; an international hotel, convention and casino complex; an online hotel bookings engine; an international arts festival; economic development for one of the world’s largest port cities; and economic development for one of Europe’s key industrial regions.

Bridge has a reputation for high-level strategic counsel and excellent media relations results. Its commitment to quality service is demonstrated by unusually long relationships between staff members and clients – one client relationship goes back 10 years, another 14 years and a third began 17 years ago.
